- The
Sexual Minority Parent Advisory Group:
Since 1999, SMPAG has worked closely with the Portland Public Schools
to advocate for the rights of alternative families and their children.
The group also serves as an advisory board for the school districts
superintendent. SMPAG has a list of volunteer opportunities, contact
info for their monthly meetings, and information on their past and current
projects.
- Family
Pride Coalition:
Formed in 1979, the Family Pride Coalition is the fastest growing national
advocacy group for the families of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender
parents. They provide links and information on current issues, educational
resources, local resources for parents, and an action-alert email list.
