• Week of Oct 22 - Experiment 6: Lead Decay - Worksheet

• Week of Oct 8 - Experiment 5: Iron Analysis

Pre-lab discussion of data analysis for Exp 4. Bring leaves in order to set-up for Leaf Decay Lab, which will run over fall break (see pg 5-5 in Lab Manual).

• Week of Oct 1 - Experiment 4: Discovering Beer's Law (Parts B and C)

Pre-lab discussion of data analysis for Exp 3 and expectations for the Lab Report for Exp 3 (due the week of 10/8).

• Week of Sept 24 - Experiment 3: Determination of the Half-Life of Vanadium

After collecting your datasets for the decay of the different vanadium compounds, each group should post Excel spreadsheets for each compound (2 columns: Elapsed Time and Raw – Background Counts) on the Moodle Lab Discussion Forum for your lab section. Include your initials and the compound name in the filename. This will allow everyone to obtain the different datasets they need for the analysis described in the Lab Manual. Please only use the data from your lab section.

• Week of Sept 17 - Experiment 4: Discovering Beer's Law (Part A)

Read thru the introductory material and Part A of the experimental section for Experiment 4. Bring BOUND lab notebook with you to class.

• Week of Sept 10 - Experiment 2: Atomic Spectroscopy

Everyone must complete the safety quiz and return your signed form from the Safety Manual to Kathy Kennedy, the Chemistry Department secretary (Chem 303) before you can participate in Experiment 2.

• Week of Sept 4 - Safety Lectures

Everyone must attend a Safety Lecture (times below), read Chapters 1–3 and 6–9 in the Safety Manual (available from the Chemistry Stockroom, complete the safety quiz and return your signed form from the Safety Manual to Kathy Kennedy, the Chemistry Department secretary (Chem 303) before you can participate in Experiment 2.
