Lines 111-76. From line 117 to line 176, 51 lines begin with the same syllable, huo, which may be translated as "Some are..." Lines 136-8, 140-2, 144-6, which do not share this feature may also be considered a part of this unique literary strategy because each of these three sets of three-line segments is a part of a four-line structure with the line that precedes the segment. Needless to say, those lines, lines 135, 139, and 143, begin with a syllable huo. The insistence to employ this singular pattern for more than fifty lines has been a source of controversy. Many criticized the practice as excessive.
