I got my BA, with a congratulatory first, and a gratuitous MA, from Oxford, England, in 1990, and my PhD from Penn in Philadelphia in 1994. I was an Assistant Professor at Wellesley College, near Boston, for the year after that (1994-95) (view the Greek and Latin dept at Wellesley, and look out for Brendon Reay, a Reed alumnus!). I was an Assistant Professor at Reed from 1995 until I earned tenure in 2001, since when I have been an Associate Professor.
