Assignment:

Perform the estimation and interpretation tasks in Stock and Watson's empirical exercises E10.2, E11.1, and E11.2, with addition discussed below.

Addition to projects (for the rest of the semester): As some of you have noted, these projects can sometimes be a little tedious. Now that you all are Stata pros and have considerable econometric experience, I'd like to add more interpretation to the assignments. Toward this end, you should add a short summary to the end of each problem (or pair of problems in the case of E11.1 and E11.2, which discuss the same topic). These summaries should include an overall assessment of the model/hypothesis, dataset, methods, and results. If there are alternative estimators that you think are more appropriate, give them a try and report on the results. Depending on the length and complexity of the original problem, I'll assign between 25% and 50% of the points for the problem to the summary at the end.
