To encourage and develop the knowledge and skills of the many Reed students who are interested in music, the music department offers courses in music history and theory, several performing ensembles, and a wide variety of private lessons. Majors and non-majors alike are welcome to take most classes and participate in performance activities.
Chamber Ensemble of the United Nations International School (UNIS)

Reed College will present the Chamber Ensemble of the United Nations International School (UNIS) in a free concert in the Eliot Hall Chapel on Wednesday 27 March at 7:00 p.m. The ensemble is conducted by Daniel Stroup, a Portland native who studied choral conducting with Bruce Browne at Portland State University. Its members, young singers between the ages of 13 and 18, come from Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, France, India, Mexico, South Africa, Sweden, the United States, and Vietnam. The program will include choral music of various cultures and styles, from the Renaissance madrigal to 20th-century vocal jazz.
