Viennese Piano
This instrument was built by Ken Bakeman in 1986. Inspired by an 1805 instrument from the famous Walter family of builders, it is particularly suited to music from the classical period, including works by Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven and their contemporaries. Pitched at 430, it is tuned in a Young-Valotti temperament and features two knee levers: a damper and a moderator. It is on loan to Reed by Bonnie Garrett, Director of Private Instruction.
