Brian Law researches American institutional politics using both qualitative and quantitative methods. Specifically, he analyzes the evolving system of checks and balances between Congress and the Presidency, and the rise of direct presidential policymaking through executive orders. He has published work in Legislative Studies Quarterly and in the edited volume "Why Not Parties?".
