2/21: We are looking for some volunteers to help lead/organize trips this semester. Ideas include, but certainly are not limited to snowshoeing, coastal hike, Forest Park hike, Portland bike tour, Bagby Hotsprings, and more. Email roc@reed.edu to get involved.
11/29: ROC has office hours: Come stop by and hang out in the ROC lounge (in the basement of ODB by the backpack coop). Discuss future, trips, read literature, watch videos and more. Hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday 11am to 1 pm and Tuesday, Thursday 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
11/5: With Tim Gowen-MacDonald hired as another backpack coop manager, the hours have been extended: hours. Now also offered is free ski and snowboard waxing!

Reading Week: Mt. Hood Ascent. Our fourth year in a row sending a team to ascend Mt. Hood. Will conditions be right for a summit? Tune in after Renn Fayre for the outcome!
4/26: Avalance safety course (field session). Learn how to stay safe in snow.
4/23: Banff Film Festival: Join Jane Myers in a trip to the Bagdad theatre to watch alluring and fantastic videos of outdoor recreation.
4/21: Avalanche safety course (classroom session). Learn how to stay safe in snow in this course with both a classroom and field component.
3/8: Portland Bike Tour. Join Laura Bradley and Tracy Mehoke in seeing some of Portland's landmarks by bike. Email Laura by Wednesday at noon to get on the lottery.
12/8-12/9: Get a nice break of relaxation on this hot springs trip before delving into finals week. Contact Jane Myers for lottery and more info.
10/16-10/20: Fall Break Glacier Skills Trip. Learn or review basic mountaineering techniques including glacier travel, crevasse rescue, ice climbing, and more! A great trip on one of Mt. Hood's Glaciers. Sign up by Thursday 10/11 outside Will Symms's office, or email him. Lottery will be at the social.
10/11: ROC social, Come socialize and eat some snacks with other Reedies enthusiastic about the outdoors
10/6: Mt. Defiance: With a 4500 foot elevation gain over 5.6 miles, it lives up to its name, not to mention the spectacular view on top. Email stasz_squatch@reed.edu to get on the lottery.
10/6: Clean up at Rocky Butte. A partnership with SEEDS to clean up this popular local climbing spot. Email bradleyl@reed.edu by Monday at 5pm to get on the lottery for this trip.
9/30: Ice Climbing! The legendary Doug Ironside will take us up to the Glaciers of Mt. Hood for some climbing up and down crevasses. Photos
9/22-23: South Sister Summit: We will be spending the night in the Sisters Wilderness Area and summiting the popular South Sister Sunday morning. Trip lead by Laura Bradley.
9/9: Clackamas River Cleanup: ROC and SEEDS together presenting an opportunity to join the clean up of the Clackamas, on rafts, and enjoy some free food afterwards
9/3: Canoe Trip, Join our expert canoe specialist enjoying the day on the water.
9/2: Silverstar Hike, A beatiful hike to the top of Silverstar with a view of Mt. Ranier, St. Helens, Hood, Adams, and Shasta. Trip lead by Steven Case
