1894 Brine

All the illustrations of Uxmal (there are no images of Kabah, Sayil, or Labná) in Lindesay Brine, Travels Amongst American Indians: Their Ancient Earthworks and Temples: Including a Journey in Guatemala, Mexico and Yucatan, and a Visit to the Ruins of Patinamit, Utatlan, Palenque and Uxmal (London: Sampson Low, Marston & Co., 1894). The drawing, "Entrance to the Casa de las Monjas" was drawn by Brine. The photograph "Serpent Emblem, Casa de las Monjas" was taken by William D. James, undated. The other eight photographs were taken by Herbert Dowding, undated. I have scanned these images from a copy in the Oregon State University Library, with appreciation.
