2002. This photo and photo below show 2 carved stone doorjambs from an "unpretentious building" near the Building of the Red Hands, Kabah. Both doorjambs were removed by Stephens and Catherwood in 1841 and are now in the American Museum of Natural History, New York City.

Detail of doorjamb in photo at far left. Compared with other Maya sculpture, the 2 standing kings are uncharacteristically slender.

2002. In each of these 2 doorjambs, a king, with magnificently elaborate, plumed headdress, stands above a kneeling, conquered chief. What may appear to be long, pointed noses on the standing figures are instead nose plugs.
