Back (west) facade and south end; the frieze runs around the entire building; the earliest restoration project at Uxmal was the restoration of the exterior of the Governor's Palace in 1927.

Front (east) facade; this frieze is the largest, most impressive example of Maya architectural sculpture, composed of over 15,000 mosaic pieces of carved stone, complexly but coherently organized.
